2 juveniles hurt after suspect fires shots at Waymo in Santa Monica
Santa Monica police said it appears the two juveniles were targeted after a verbal altercation with the suspect earlier in the night.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two juveniles were hurt when someone fired shots at a Waymo car in Santa Monica on Sunday night.

Santa Monica police said it appears the two juveniles were targeted after a verbal altercation with the suspect earlier in the night.

It happened at the intersection of 2nd Street and Broadway.

Santa Monica police said the two victims were riding in an autonomous rideshare Waymo when the suspect ran up and fired multiple rounds into the car before fleeing the scene.

The two victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. One was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the torso, according to police.

Video from the scene showed three bullet holes in the passenger window of the autonomous vehicle.

At least check, no arrests had been made. The investigation is ongoing.
